Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to cut, shape, assemble, and weld metal components according to blueprints, schematics, or verbal instructions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various metals (e.g., steel, aluminum), tools, and fabrication techniques to produce high-quality parts and structures. Attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or in a team are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Preparation & Cutting:
- Measure, mark, and cut metal sheets, bars, or pipes using tools such as plasma cutters, saws, shears, or torches.
- Operate CNC machines (e.g., laser cutters, water jets) for precision cutting (if applicable).
- Assembly & Fabrication:
- Bend, roll, shape, and drill metal components using press brakes, rollers, or other machinery.
- Fit and align parts using clamps, jigs, or fixtures before welding or fastening.
- Welding & Joining:
- Perform MIG, TIG, or stick welding to join metal parts (certification may be required).
- Grind, polish, or finish welded seams for smooth surfaces and structural integrity.
- Blueprint & Specification Compliance:
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or CAD designs.
- Ensure fabricated parts meet exact dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Inspect finished products for defects, accuracy, and durability.
- Follow safety protocols (PPE, OSHA standards) and maintain a clean workspace.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform basic maintenance on fabrication tools (e.g., replacing blades, calibrating machines).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with fabrication tools (e.g., grinders, drills, presses) and welding equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
- Familiarity with CNC machines or CAD software (a plus).
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs) and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working in noisy, high-temperature environments.
- Certifications: Welding certifications (AWS, etc.) or forklift license (if applicable).
