Role Objective:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to animal farming (cows, sheep, goats, poultry, bees), dairy processing (cheese, yogurt, butter, etc.), and horticulture operations. This role focuses on sourcing high-quality products and services, optimizing vendor relationships, and contributing to cost-effective, efficient procurement strategies that support the overall goals of the farm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee procurement operations for animal farming, dairy processing, and horticulture divisions.
- Develop purchasing strategies and build long-term relationships with quality suppliers.
- Manage sourcing projects at local, regional, and multi-site levels in coordination with internal teams.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers, assessing based on pricing, quality, authenticity, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor procurement spend and working capital to ensure cost efficiency.
- Analyze quotations in compliance with company policies, ensuring alignment with required specifications and lead times.
- Negotiate contracts and secure competitive pricing without compromising quality or timelines.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure appropriate approval processes via accounts and internal audit teams.
- Forecast demand for livestock feed, milk processing equipment, and horticultural inputs based on consumption trends.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods, managing supplier relationships, payment terms, and lead times.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid excess stock or shortages, setting benchmarks for efficient inventory control.
- Verify and inspect deliveries for feed, equipment, and consumables.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory and quality standards, especially in the animal farming and dairy sectors.
- Mitigate procurement-related risks, particularly for perishable goods and critical livestock inputs.
- Develop and implement automated procurement systems for streamlined ordering and tracking.
- Create and maintain a master vendor database for efficient procurement operations.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in procurement for animal farming, dairy, and/or horticulture.
- Experience in the Middle East preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and procurement software.
- Up-to-date knowledge of farming, dairy processing, and horticulture industry trends.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
