Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician - Electrical and Mechanical is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of production equipment through regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role involves performing planned and preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment failures, calibrating instruments, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The technician will collaborate with Engineers and Production Supervisors to maintain high operational standards and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance:Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute all assigned maintenance tasks, including planned and preventive maintenance, as per the schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly equipment breakdowns for traceability and maintenance planning.
- Troubleshooting:Diagnose and resolve equipment and machinery breakdowns through effective fault-finding and problem-solving techniques.
- Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Calibrate instruments and assist in the installation of machinery and equipment as required.
- Working Conditions & Continuous Improvement:Ensure compliance with safety practices, procedures, and applicable federal or local codes, regulations, and requirements.
- Participate in mechanical and electrical improvement projects for the plant.
- Conduct safety compliance inspections and maintain accurate records of inspections.
- Adhere to GMP, ISO, QMS, HACCP, 5-S, and Work Safety standards.
- Support cost-effective practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and Kaizen activities.
- Coordination & Communication:Collaborate with Engineers and Production Supervisors to determine equipment needs and schedule work based on work orders for internal and external jobs.
- Ensure proper documentation, including signing of work orders and daily accomplishment reports for technicians.
- Meet daily with Engineers to assess priorities, address issues, and communicate effectively.
- Facilitate timely and accurate communication of maintenance-related issues with the Production and Engineering Departments.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering/Technology, or equivalent technical certification.
- Experience: Minimum of [2-5 years, depending on company requirements] of experience in industrial maintenance, with expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in calibrating instruments and performing preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO, QMS, HACCP, and 5-S standards.
- Soft Skills:Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
