HT Winding Technician
Job Summary:
An HT (High Tension) Winding Technician is a specialist Winding Technician who focuses on the rewinding and repair of high-voltage motors and generators. This role demands a deep understanding of high-voltage insulation systems and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all the duties of a standard Winding Technician, but specifically on HV equipment.
- Specialize in handling complex insulation systems for voltages typically above 1000V.
- Perform and interpret results from specialized HV tests like Polarization Index (PI) and Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR).
- Ensure all work complies with stringent high-voltage safety standards and protocols.
- Work on large, critical assets such as industrial HV motors, turbine generators, and HV transformers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- All qualifications of a Winding Technician.
- Specialized training and certification in high-voltage winding techniques and safety.
- In-depth knowledge of HV insulation materials, corona suppression, and grading systems.
- Significant experience working in a high-voltage environment.
