Head of Information Security (Network Security)
Job Summary:
The Head of Information Security for Network Security is responsible for the architectural integrity and defensive posture of the organization's global network. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect the network perimeter, internal segments, cloud connections, and remote access. The incumbent ensures that network infrastructure is resilient against attacks and aligned with a Zero-Trust architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and enforce the organization's network security strategy, standards, and policies.
- Architect and oversee the implementation of network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, DDoS mitigation, and network segmentation.
- Lead the network security team in managing and optimizing security appliances and services.
- Develop and implement secure remote access solutions (e.g., ZTNA, SASE).
- Collaborate with the Network Architect Lead to ensure security is embedded in all network designs.
- Conduct security reviews and risk assessments for new network projects and changes.
- Manage relationships with security vendors and managed security service providers.
- Stay abreast of emerging network-based threats and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 10+ years in information security with a deep focus on network security.
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing network security engineers.
- Expert-level knowledge of firewall policies, VPNs, routing/switching security, and cloud network security (AWS/Azure).
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, or similar next-generation firewall platforms.
- Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP Security, CISSP, or equivalent.
