Venue Technology Manager
Job Summary:
The Venue Technology Manager is responsible for the ongoing operational management and support of all technology within a specific venue or set of venues. This role acts as the "owner" of the venue's technology ecosystem, ensuring all systems are highly available, performant, and meet the needs of events, tenants, and guests. This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges the gap between project delivery and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the venue's technology team, including IT support, technicians, and engineers.
- Oversee the operational health of all venue systems: network, Wi-Fi, broadcast connectivity, point-of-sale, access control, and audio-visual.
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules and operational runbooks.
- Serve as the primary technology contact for event producers, tenants, and broadcasters.
- Manage the venue technology budget, including operational expenditures and minor capital projects.
- Coordinate with the central technology teams for escalated support and major upgrades.
- Ensure all technology operations adhere to security policies and compliance standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in technology operations, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Experience in a live environment such as a stadium, arena, theater, or hotel.
- Strong technical knowledge across IT networks, telecommunications, and audio-visual systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the event calendar.
