Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's core server and endpoint infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of the operating system environment, both on-premise and in hybrid cloud scenarios. The engineer will automate processes and serve as a top-tier escalation point for complex issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage the Windows and/or Linux server infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain the virtualization platform (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Implement and manage the endpoint management environment (Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune, SCCM).
- Automate system administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Harden server and endpoint operating systems in accordance with security policies.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate systems with network, storage, and security services.
- Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation and operational runbooks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering and administration.
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory; Linux experience is a strong plus.
- Deep experience with enterprise virtualization technologies (VMware).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell is essential).
- Experience with modern endpoint management and cloud identity (Azure AD) is highly desirable.
