Multi Technician - MEP & Civil
Job Summary:
The Multi Technician is a highly versatile and skilled professional responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Civil disciplines. This role is crucial for providing a rapid and efficient response to facility issues, often working independently to diagnose and resolve cross-trade problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-Trade Repairs: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of systems including but not limited to: minor electrical circuits, lighting, plumbing fixtures, HVAC filters and belts, door hardware, and minor civil works like patching and painting.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions in MEP and building systems by using technical knowledge, test equipment, and observation to identify the root cause of issues.
- Installation Support: Assist specialized technicians (Electricians, HVAC Techs, Plumbers) in the installation and commissioning of new MEP and Civil equipment.
- Civil Works: Perform minor concrete repairs, masonry work, tile laying, and general building fabric maintenance.
- Compliance & Safety: Perform all duties in strict compliance with safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Documentation: Complete work orders, detailing the nature of the work performed, materials used, and time spent.
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining levels of common spare parts and consumables.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a multi-skilled apprenticeship or vocational training program is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role within a facility, plant, or construction environment.
- Demonstrable competency in at least two of the following areas: basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and civil maintenance.
- Ability to use a wide array of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
