Senior Electrician & Electrician
Job Summary:
The Electrician (and Senior Electrician) is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with all relevant codes and safety standards. The Senior Electrician handles more complex systems, leads projects, and mentors junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduits, panels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting systems, and power appliances.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical circuits, equipment, and control systems using ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and other testing devices.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any other local authorities' regulations.
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Safety Procedures: Rigorously apply safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams to plan and execute work.
- Mentorship & Guidance: (Senior Electrician) Provide guidance and on-the-job training to apprentice electricians and junior staff. Review work for quality and compliance.
- Complex Project Work: (Senior Electrician) Lead the electrical installation for complex projects, including motor control centers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and power distribution systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license is mandatory. A Master Electrician license is required for the Senior role.
- Electrician: 5+ years of experience. Senior Electrician: 8+ years of experience, including lead or supervisory duties.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NEC and local electrical codes.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
