Housekeeping Associate
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning activities to ensure that our facilities are tidy, sanitary, and welcoming. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of cleanliness in our industry. This role is crucial to creating a positive first impression and a comfortable stay for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, patient rooms, offices, or common areas according to established standards and procedures.
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and amenities.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, and fittings; polish surfaces to a high standard.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and scrub floors.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, and mirrors.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in a sanitary manner.
- Restock guest/room supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and coffee.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor (e.g., broken furniture, leaky faucets, burnt-out light bulbs).
- Handle and store cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and responsibly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and linens; notify supervisor when supplies are low.
- Ensure all lost and found items are turned in to the appropriate department promptly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide friendly and professional service to guests and team members when encountered.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience as a housekeeper, cleaner, or in a similar role is a plus, but not required; we provide training.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 25-30 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
Preferred:
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to complete tasks efficiently.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
- Understanding of proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
Working Conditions
