Sales Manager - Freight Forwarding

Job Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Manager with extensive experience in the freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of sales executives, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. Your primary goal will be to achieve and exceed sales targets while expanding our market presence in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Executives to achieve individual and team monthly sales targets.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies for improvement.
- Foster a motivating and high-performance sales culture.
- Sales Strategy & Business Development:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to expand the company’s customer base in the Qatar market.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across various industry verticals (e.g., Oil & Gas, Construction, Retail, FMCG).
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects through networking, cold calling, and leveraging industry contacts.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and clients.
- Understand client logistics needs and propose effective, customized freight forwarding solutions (Air, Sea, Land, Logistics).
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and act as an escalation point for key accounts.
- Sales Closing & Negotiation:
- Lead complex negotiations and successfully close high-value contracts.
- Prepare and present persuasive sales proposals and presentations to potential clients.
- Achieve and exceed agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the schedule.
- Reporting & Market Intelligence:
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for senior management, tracking progress against targets.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments in Qatar.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 7-10 years of proven sales experience within the Freight Forwarding industry.
- At least 3-5 years of specific sales experience in the Qatar market is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a sales team to achieve targets.
- Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, motivation, and team management abilities.
- Strong skills in sales closing, negotiation, and client acquisition.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Language: Proficient in both English and Hindi (verbal and written).
- Technical: High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
