Fabricator – Pipe

Job Summary:
The Pipe Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and fitting of pipes and components according to isometric drawings and specifications. They prepare the joints for welding by ensuring precise alignment and fit-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, layout drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, mark, and cut pipes to required lengths and angles using manual and powered tools (e.g., saws, grinders, cutting torches).
- Perform bending, rolling, and flanging of pipes as per drawings.
- Assemble and fit pipe spools, including elbows, tees, flanges, and valves, ensuring correct alignment, gap, and orientation.
- Use clamps, jacks, and other tools to align components for welding.
- Prepare weld edges by beveling and grinding to the specified geometry.
- Perform basic tack welding if qualified, or prepare the joint for the welder.
- Ensure all fabricated spools meet dimensional tolerances before final welding.
- Maintain tools and equipment and adhere to all safety procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- ITI / Vocational Certificate in Pipe Fitting or a related trade.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a Pipe Fabricator/Fitter in an industrial setting.
- Proficient in the use of all fitting tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand isometric drawings is essential.
- Basic knowledge of welding symbols and processes.
