Crawler Crane Operator (with valid Qatar License for Crane ONLY)
Job Summary:
The Crawler Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of crawler cranes on site. The operator must possess deep technical knowledge of the machinery and a steadfast commitment to safety protocols, holding the mandatory, specific license issued by Qatari authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate crawler cranes to lift, move, position, and place heavy loads and equipment with precision.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections (as per checklist) of the crane and all its systems (hooks, wire ropes, brakes, controls, safety devices).
- Report any equipment defects or malfunctions immediately to the supervisor and Lifting Engineer.
- Rig loads safely in conjunction with the rigging crew, ensuring understanding of hand and radio signals.
- Work closely with the Lifting Engineer and Crew Coordinator to execute the lift plan accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe cabin and machine environment.
- Complete all necessary logbooks and documentation as required by company and Qatari law.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must possess a valid Qatar Crane Operator License (specifically for cranes, not a generic heavy vehicle license).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience operating crawler cranes, preferably in a major project environment.
- Must be locally available in Qatar with a valid QID.
- Proven ability to operate different models and capacities of crawler cranes.
- Excellent understanding of load charts, crane stability, and on-site safety procedures.
- A clean safety record and a strong safety mindset are non-negotiable.
