The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Crypto Quant Trader to join our founding team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building our trading capabilities from the ground up. You will work directly with the Lead Trader to research, design, implement, and deploy sophisticated low-frequency trading strategies. This is a hands-on role that combines deep quantitative research with practical trading execution, offering significant responsibility and the potential for substantial impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Research & Development: Conduct rigorous research to identify, model, and validate new low-frequency trading signals and strategies in the crypto markets (e.g., statistical arbitrage, factor investing, market-making, fundamental valuation models).
- AI/ML Implementation: Apply advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques (including LLMs for alternative data analysis) to enhance predictive models and optimize trading decisions.
- Full-Stack Implementation: Take ownership of the entire strategy lifecycle—from initial backtesting and simulation in Python to potentially implementing high-performance components in C++.
- Data Analysis: Work with vast and varied datasets, including on-chain data, market data, futures term structure, and alternative data sources to generate actionable insights.
- Backtesting & Simulation: Develop and maintain a robust backtesting framework to evaluate strategy performance, ensuring realistic assumptions regarding market impact, transaction costs, and slippage.
- Risk Management: Monitor live strategies, manage associated risks, and continuously work on improving the risk-adjusted returns of the trading portfolio.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Trader to share insights, challenge assumptions, and contribute to the overall research and trading direction of the firm.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in a quantitative trading, research, or development role at a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or investment bank. Prior exposure to crypto assets is a significant advantage.
- Education: A strong academic record from a top-tier university in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, or Engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Programming: Solid proficiency in Python for data analysis, research, and prototyping. Exposure to C++ is highly desirable for performance-critical applications.
- AI/ML: Practical experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost) and a understanding of how to apply them to financial markets.
- Data & Tools: Proficiency with SQL, Pandas, NumPy, and experience working with large datasets.
- Personal Attributes:
- A passion for financial markets and trading, with a specific interest in the crypto ecosystem.
