🎯 Your Key Responsibilities
- Design & Build: Architect, construct, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Data Modeling: Design and implement optimal data models in BigQuery to support both operational and analytical reporting needs.
- Orchestration: Develop and manage workflow orchestration using Composer/Airflow to ensure reliable and timely data processing.
- Streaming & Batch Processing: Build and optimize both batch and real-time streaming data pipelines using technologies like Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Apache Kafka.
- Data Quality & Governance: Implement and advocate for data quality checks, monitoring, and governance best practices across the data lifecycle.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- CI/CD & Best Practices: Champion software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and version control (Git) for data pipelines.
💡 What We're Looking For (Your Skills & Experience)
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer with a strong track record of building and maintaining production-grade data systems.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically:
- BigQuery (data modeling, performance tuning)
- Dataflow (Apache Beam) for data processing
- Cloud Composer (Airflow) for orchestration
- Expertise in SQL and advanced programming skills in Python.
- Solid foundation in data warehousing/lakehouse concepts, ETL/ELT design patterns, and data modeling (e.g., Star Schema, Data Vault).
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform).
- A problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
Highly Desirable (Big Plus):
- Experience with real-time streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
- Knowledge of data orchestration and workflow management beyond Airflow.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, product-driven environment like iGaming, FinTech, or E-commerce.
