Senior Platform Engineer (Python & Kubernetes)
Location: Athens, Greece (Remote options available within Greece)
About the Role:
We are seeking a foundational member for our new Platform Engineering team. Your primary mission will be to design, build, and maintain our internal developer platform from the ground up. You will have the unique opportunity to shape the tools, infrastructure, and processes that will enable hundreds of engineers to ship code faster and more reliably. This is a high-impact role for someone who is passionate about building elegant systems and solving complex infrastructure challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement a secure, scalable, and cost-effective Kubernetes-based platform.
- Develop internal tools and automation in Python to improve the developer experience and operational efficiency.
- Design and manage our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable software delivery.
- Establish best practices for observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Champion a DevOps culture of ownership, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand their needs and solve their infrastructure challenges.
- Implement and enforce security policies and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Crossplane) practices.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python for automation and tool development.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Kubernetes (deployment, management, and troubleshooting). Experience with operators is a big plus.
- Experience building and maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).
- Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- A mindset geared towards automation, reliability, and creating elegant solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience building an internal developer platform (Backstage, etc.).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Knowledge of database and cache infrastructure.
