Location: Onsite/In-house
Shift: Primarily Night Shift (to align with US time zones). Must be flexible to support multiple time zones as required.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic US Voice & Accent Trainer to enhance the communication skills of our customer-facing teams. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in American English, dedicated to improving pronunciation, fluency, and overall communication effectiveness to ensure exceptional service delivery for our US-based clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Delivery: Conduct comprehensive US accent, pronunciation, and communication training sessions for both new hires and tenured employees.
- Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and update engaging training modules focused on key areas such as clarity, tone, speech rhythm, pacing, and fluency.
- Phonetic Coaching: Provide expert coaching on the core components of American English, including phonetics, word/sentence stress, intonation patterns, and accent reduction techniques.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor and evaluate trainee performance through mock calls and live call reviews to identify specific communication gaps and provide targeted, actionable feedback.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations Trainers, Quality Assurance teams, and Team Leads to align on communication standards and ensure their consistent application in daily workflows.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate training records, track individual and group progress, and report on key performance metrics to demonstrate training effectiveness.
- Cultural Competence: Proactively stay current with evolving US cultural nuances, contemporary expressions, and communication styles to ensure training content remains relevant and effective.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, Communication, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of proven experience as a Voice & Accent Trainer, specifically focused on US English, within a BPO, L&D, or corporate training environment.
- In-depth, practical knowledge of American English pronunciation (e.g., General American), accent neutralization/reduction, and call center communication standards.
- Certification in language training, voice & accent (e.g., TEFL/TESOL, Compton P-ESL, etc.), or linguistics is a strong plus.
