Engineer - Civil
Job Summary:
The Civil Engineer is a foundational role responsible for the design, planning, and oversight of construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure. This includes site development, foundations, structural frameworks, roads, drainage, and other utilities. The incumbent ensures that all civil engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications, serving as the technical authority on-site for all civil-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning: Develop detailed civil and structural designs, drawings, and specifications using software like AutoCAD, Revit, or STAAD.Pro. Perform calculations for loads, stresses, and material requirements.
- Site Supervision: Oversee and direct construction activities on-site, ensuring work is performed according to approved designs and quality standards. Monitor progress and report on project status.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of materials and workmanship. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Project Management: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Coordinate with project managers, other engineering disciplines, contractors, and suppliers.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, material submittals, and method statements.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve design and construction issues promptly, proposing effective and cost-efficient technical solutions.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Actively promote and enforce a safe work environment, ensuring all civil works adhere to the project's HSE plan.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is highly desirable.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in civil engineering, preferably within construction, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects.
- Proficiency in civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
