Position: QA/QC Inspector (Civil / Electrical)

Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Project Manager
Job Summary
The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that all site construction activities comply with the project's quality plans, specifications, codes, and standards. The role focuses on both civil and electrical disciplines within the oil & gas field, requiring a hands-on approach to inspection, documentation, and coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Compliance:
- Perform daily inspections of civil works (e.g., structural concrete, steel, earthworks, buildings) and electrical works (e.g., cable laying, termination, panel installation, lighting, earthing systems).
- Ensure all materials and workmanship comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant international standards (e.g., ASTM, BS, IEC, API).
- Witness and monitor material testing, pre-commissioning, and testing activities (e.g., concrete slump tests, soil compaction, meggering, continuity tests).
- Identify and report non-conformities (NCRs), initiate corrective actions, and follow up on their closure.
2. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate QA/QC records, including Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Approval Requests (MARs), and Test Reports.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly inspection reports, highlighting progress, issues, and corrective actions.
- Manage quality documentation such as method statements, inspection & test plans (ITPs), and as-built drawings.
3. Coordination & Liaison:
- Coordinate directly with Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
- Liaise with Client representatives, Consultants, and Third-Party Inspection authorities for all quality inspections and approvals.
- Attend project quality meetings and provide technical input.
4. Audits & Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality awareness on site.
- Suggest improvements to quality control procedures and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of direct experience as a QA/QC Inspector in the oil & gas industry.
- Regional Experience: GCC experience is mandatory; UAE experience is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of civil/electrical construction methods and quality standards in hydrocarbon projects.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications (e.g., NACE, IWI, Lead Auditor) are a plus.
- Personal Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced site environment.
Terms & Conditions
- Salary: AED 7,500 per month (all-inclusive, subject to experience and qualifications).
