We are currently seeking 10 Local Security Personnel (Jailers) for a long-term data centre project in Slough. This role is critical in maintaining strict access control procedures within high-risk electrical environments, particularly switch rooms and restricted operational areas.
Candidates must live within commutable distance to Slough and be available for an immediate start.
🔹 Role Overview
The Security Personnel (Jailer) will be responsible for controlling and monitoring access to restricted areas within the data centre, ensuring all personnel comply with site safety and permit-to-work procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidence in enforcing compliance, and clear communication skills.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Access Control & Monitoring
- Control entry and exit to restricted areas, including switch rooms.
- Prevent access to switch rooms without valid safety documentation or visual inspection stickers.
- Ensure only authorized personnel enter controlled zones.
Safety & Compliance Checks
- Verify that safety documents are valid, in date, and applicable to the correct area.
- Check that names listed on permits and work party registers match ID badges.
- Ensure personnel entering switch rooms have the correct helmet stickers.
Documentation & Logging
- Ensure all working party members sign on and off the work party register daily in the presence of the CP (Competent Person).
- Monitor and confirm personnel sign in and out of switch rooms correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of personnel movement within restricted zones.
Communication & Enforcement
- Communicate clearly with contractors, engineers, and supervisors.
- Enforce site rules and escalate non-compliance where necessary.
- Maintain a professional and firm presence on site at all times.
🔹 Requirements
- Previous security experience (mandatory).
- Basic electrical knowledge (desired but not essential).
- Must live within commutable distance to Slough.
- Fluent English with strong communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work long shifts.
- Comfortable working in a high-security, regulated environment.
💰 Pay Rates (Umbrella CIS or PAYE)
- £22.50 per hour – Monday to Friday (first 50 hours)
- £33.75 per hour – Monday to Friday (over 50 hours)
- £33.75 per hour – Saturdays
- £39.38 per hour – Sundays
