Awais Printing Press is seeking a Certified Safety Officer (NEBOSH Holder) to champion workplace safety and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. The ideal candidate will proactively identify hazards, lead risk assessments, conduct safety training, and foster a culture of zero accidents across all printing and production areas.

Key Responsibilities

HSE Compliance & Audits

Implement and enforce local HSE laws, NEBOSH standards, and company safety policies.
Conduct regular internal audits and inspections of production floors, warehouses, and administrative areas.

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

Perform systematic hazard identification (HAZID) and detailed risk assessments (HIRA) for printing presses, chemical storage, and material‑handling operations.
Recommend corrective and preventive measures, tracking closure of all non‑conformities.

Safety Training & Toolbox Talks

Deliver induction and refresher training on fire safety, chemical handling (inks, solvents), machine guarding, PPE usage, and emergency response.
Lead daily/weekly toolbox talks, promoting best practices and safe behaviours.

Incident Investigation & Reporting

Investigate accidents, near‑misses, and unsafe acts, issuing root‑cause analysis (RCA) reports and implementing remedial actions.
Maintain comprehensive records for regulatory and insurance purposes.

Emergency Preparedness

Develop and update emergency response plans covering fire, chemical spills, and medical emergencies.
Coordinate evacuation drills and ensure readiness of firefighting equipment and first‑aid stations.

Safety Documentation & Permits

Manage MSDS files, work‑at‑height permits, hot‑work permits, and lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
Keep all safety signage, registers, and certifications current and clearly displayed.

Requirements

NEBOSH IGC (or higher) certification—mandatory.
Diploma/Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
3–5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer in manufacturing, printing, or similarly high‑risk environments.
Proven expertise in hazard identification, risk mitigation, and HSE legislation.
Strong communication skills for training diverse staff and writing clear safety reports.
Proficiency with MS Office and incident‑tracking or EHS software.
First Aid & Fire‑Fighting certification preferred.
