📝 Job Description

Alwasl Printing Press is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Digital Designer with hands-on large format printing machine operation experience. This is an urgent requirement for a proactive individual who can seamlessly transition from digital design creation to physical production, ensuring the highest quality output for our clients.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing projects from concept to completion.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Design & Pre-Press (50%)

Create and design various materials for digital and print media, including banners, signage, vehicle graphics, floor graphics, window displays, and exhibition stands.
Prepare, proof, and correct artwork for printing, ensuring all files are print-ready.
Conduct pre-flight checks on all customer-supplied artwork to identify and resolve any issues (resolution, color space, bleed, etc.).
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines.
Liaise with clients or account managers to understand design requirements and provide creative input.

2. Large Format Machine Operation & Production (50%)

Operate and maintain large format inkjet printers (e.g., HP, Canon, Roland, Mimaki), UV flatbeds, and cutting plotters.
Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Manage ink, substrate, and material inventory for production.
Ensure color consistency and print quality matches the approved design and client expectations.
Handle and process various materials including vinyl, PVC, mesh, paper, cardboard, and acrylic.
Perform finishing tasks such as laminating, mounting, trimming, and weeding.

✅ Candidate Requirements

Immediate Joining: Must be available to start immediately.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar role within a printing press or signage company.
Design Skills:
Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW).
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.
Technical Operating Skills:
Hands-on experience operating and maintaining large format printers and plotters.
Solid knowledge of RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Flexi, Caldera).
Understanding of color profiles and management.
Personal Attributes:
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
Good communication skills and a team player attitude.
Physically able to handle large rolls of material and finished products.
