Assistant Accountant

Location: Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, UAE

Salary: AED 5,000 per month (all-inclusive)

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to support our finance department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with standard procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Transactions:
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
Handle petty cash management and daily reconciliations.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Assist with bank reconciliations.
Record Maintenance:
Maintain accurate and organized financial files, invoices, and vouchers.
Update and maintain the general ledger.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements (Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet).
Reporting & Compliance:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare routine financial reports and summaries for management.
Support in ensuring compliance with VAT regulations and filing.
Help with audit preparations by providing necessary documentation.
Administrative Support:
Support the senior accountant and finance team with ad-hoc tasks.
Liaise with vendors and clients regarding invoices and payments.
Assist in payroll processing support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant internships are also encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel is essential: pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, Oracle) is a strong advantage.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Good communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Proactive, eager to learn, and a good team player.
