In 1980, Abu Dhabi was a city of roundabouts, boats, and new beginnings. At that time, only two bridges existed in the Emirate, leaving Islands like Saadiyat, Hudayriyat, and Reem completely unlinked by roads. Because of this, some businesses relied on providing boat transport to ensure their people could cross the water to their workplaces. Experiencing this reality firsthand by taking a boat every day, Mr. Samer Qiblawi, our future President and CEO, embraced the unique energy of the developing city and took a leap of faith to start his journey as an entrepreneur.

By 1983, Al Bawardi Marine Service Company was established as a small but ambitious department. Despite the humble start, a clear vision and the determination of a tiny team laid the groundwork for decades of growth.

A pivotal shift occurred in 1996. The company gained its independence as Al Bawardi Marine Services Company (ABMS) following a major restructuring. Equipped with its own team, fleet, and headquarters, the company set its own course. Counting from this moment of independence, we are now entering our 30th year of service excellence.
