Storekeeper — Job Description

We are looking for a responsible and organized Storekeeper to manage the receipt, storage, and issue of materials, products, tools, and supplies. The Storekeeper will maintain accurate inventory records, ensure proper storage conditions, and support smooth day-to-day warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and goods.
Store items safely and systematically in designated locations.
Issue materials against authorized requests or documents.
Maintain accurate stock records and inventory documentation.
Monitor stock levels and identify shortages, excess stock, or damaged items.
Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Prepare goods for dispatch and ensure correct quantities and specifications.
Maintain proper labeling and organization of storage areas.
Follow FIFO/FEFO procedures where applicable.
Coordinate with purchasing, production, accounts, and other departments.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security within the store/warehouse.
Prepare inventory reports and update stock-management systems.
Report damaged, expired, missing, or slow-moving items to management.
Follow company policies and health and safety procedures.

Requirements

High school/secondary education or equivalent; additional warehouse training is an advantage.
Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, or similar role is preferred.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Excel or inventory software.
Good knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records and work systematically.
Physically fit and able to handle materials safely.
Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
