Assistant Accountant

Job Summary:
The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with month-end closing activities. The candidate should have prior experience in accounting, preferably within the retail or hypermarket sector, and be familiar with SAP & ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain and update general ledger entries.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the Senior Accountant in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Handle petty cash management and reimbursement processing.
- Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliations.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Support the team in audit preparations and compliance checks.
- Utilize SAP & ERP systems for day-to-day accounting tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Familiarity with hypermarket or retail industry accounting is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of SAP & ERP systems is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
