Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the finance department in achieving its objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retail or hypermarket environments and be proficient in SAP & ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage general ledger accounting, month-end, and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations and timely processing.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Handle VAT and other tax-related filings as per Kuwait regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Utilize SAP & ERP systems for financial data management and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is preferred.
- Minimum 4-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- In-depth knowledge of hypermarket or retail industry accounting practices.
- Proficiency in SAP & ERP systems is mandatory.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
