We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join a growing insurance organization. This role will support the Financial Controller in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within the insurance sector and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports
- Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis
- Assist with regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with local financial regulations
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits
- Review accounting entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
- Support cash flow management and financial controls
- Improve financial processes and internal control systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business decisions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
- 3–6 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the insurance sector
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and regulations
- Experience with financial systems and ERP software
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
