Job Description – QC Lab Technician
We are urgently looking for an experienced QC Lab Technician with a background in the paper industry to perform quality testing, inspection, and laboratory operations to ensure products meet required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard paper testing methods and quality inspections.
- Collect paper samples from parent rolls at the paper machine.
- Check physical defects in paper rolls and report findings promptly to the process owner for corrective action.
- Conduct laboratory tests according to work instructions and compare results with standard specifications.
- Identify quality deviations and communicate findings to the QC Supervisor and relevant departments.
- Maintain accurate test records and update reports in MES System and Autoline 400.
- Make quality decisions based on acceptance criteria.
- Perform internal calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and test marketing samples as per required procedures.
- Maintain laboratory assets and ensure proper 5S workplace standards.
- Support quality improvement activities as per company guidelines.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and communication of quality issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and occupational health & safety standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a QC Lab Technician in the Paper Industry is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of paper testing methods and quality standards.
- Experience in laboratory equipment handling and calibration.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures and chemical handling.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a production environment and meet deadlines.
