Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Medium & High Voltage Transformer Technician to join our electrical maintenance team in Al-Kharj. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of medium- and high-voltage transformers and related electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair medium- and high-voltage transformers.
- Perform transformer testing, inspection, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in transformers and associated equipment.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Inspect transformer components, bushings, cables, connections, and protection systems.
- Conduct insulation resistance and other electrical tests using appropriate testing equipment.
- Assist with transformer commissioning, energization, and shutdown activities.
- Identify abnormal conditions such as overheating, oil leakage, unusual noise, and insulation problems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Follow electrical safety procedures, work permits, and site safety requirements.
- Coordinate with electrical engineers, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with medium- and high-voltage transformers.
- Strong knowledge of transformer maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical testing instruments and maintenance tools.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and HV/MV work practices.
- Relevant technical diploma, ITI, or electrical qualification is preferred.
- Previous industrial, power, utility, or electrical-project experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work safely in a demanding site environment.
