Role Overview:

We require an experienced AS-400 (IBM i) Engineer to manage our core banking systems running on the IBM i platform. This role is vital for the day-to-day operations of the bank, involving the administration, performance tuning, and support of legacy and modern IBM i systems that run critical financial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration: Perform daily operations, user management, job scheduling, backup/recovery, and system security on IBM i (OS/400, IBM i) systems.
Core Banking Support: Provide technical support for core banking applications (e.g., Finacle, T24, or legacy banking software) running on the AS-400 platform.
Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance using tools like IBM Performance Navigator. Analyze and optimize job queues, memory pools, and disk I/O.
High Availability & DR: Support and manage high-availability solutions (e.g., IBM PowerHA) and participate in Disaster Recovery drills for IBM i systems.
LPAR Management: Administer and configure LPARs on IBM Power Systems.
Modernization & Integration: Support integration efforts between IBM i systems and distributed platforms (Windows/Linux) using middleware, MQ, or web services.
Compliance & Security: Implement security controls, audit journal management, and ensure compliance with banking IT policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on AS-400 (IBM i) administration experience in the Banking sector. This is essential.
Proficiency in IBM i OS administration, CL programming, and operations.
Experience with DB2/400 database management.
Knowledge of core banking applications on the IBM i platform is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with IBM Power Systems hardware and LPAR/VIO configuration.
Understanding of banking processes and the criticality of mainframe/system i environments.
Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
