COMMIS CHEF - BAKERY

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Commis Chef specializing in Bakery to join our culinary team in the heart of Dubai (DMCC). The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in baking fundamentals and a minimum of 2 years of experience within the UAE market. You will work closely with our bakery section to produce high-quality breads, viennoiserie, and pastries that meet our brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production: Prepare, bake, and finish a variety of baked goods including artisan breads, croissants, Danish pastries, muffins, and cookies according to standardized recipes.
Mise en Place: Ensure all daily baking preparations are completed efficiently, including measuring, mixing, and proofing doughs.
Quality Control: Inspect ingredients and finished products to maintain the highest level of freshness, taste, and presentation.
Hygiene & Safety: Strictly adhere to Dubai Municipal food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP). Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation at all times.
Inventory: Assist in monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients (FIFO), and minimizing wastage.
Collaboration: Work alongside the senior pastry/bakery chefs and communicate effectively with the front-of-house and coffee team to ensure timely delivery of goods for service.
Equipment Maintenance: Handle bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, provers) with care and report any maintenance issues promptly.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Commis Chef in a bakery section within the UAE (Hotels, high-end cafes, or pastry shops).
Knowledge: Solid understanding of baking techniques, dough handling, fermentation, and pastry arts.
Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with local ingredient sourcing and UAE health regulations is mandatory.
Availability: Must be currently residing in the UAE and available for immediate joining or within a short notice period.
Personal Traits: Punctual, reliable, team-oriented, and passionate about the craft of baking.
Physical Requirement: Ability to stand for long hours and work in a fast-paced, hot environment.
