Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician with a strong background in steel manufacturing plants, particularly section mills. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery within the section mill.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in motors, drives, control panels, and PLC systems.
Assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
Ensure proper functioning of power distribution systems, lighting, and emergency backup systems.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals for troubleshooting.
Support production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
Coordinate with mechanical and production teams for smooth plant operations.
Participate in shutdowns, upgrades, and major overhauls of section mill equipment.

Requirements:

Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a steel plant / section mill.
Strong knowledge of rolling mill equipment, motors, drives, PLCs, and electrical systems.
Hands-on experience with high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and troubleshoot complex faults.
Familiarity with safety standards and preventive maintenance practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to work in shifts and under challenging plant conditions.
