Instrument Sr. Specialist

Reports To: Instrument Supervisor or Maintenance Manager

Job Summary: The Instrument Sr. Specialist is a field-based expert responsible for the advanced maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of complex instrumentation and control systems, providing mentorship to the technician team.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the ultimate field authority for troubleshooting pneumatic, electronic, and smart instrumentation, control loops, and final control elements.
Lead calibration and configuration of critical and complex instruments (e.g., smart transmitters, control valves, analyzers).
Perform advanced diagnostics and minor programming on DCS/PLC field devices and networks.
Develop and improve calibration procedures and preventive maintenance plans.
Lead fault finding and repair of intricate instrument loops and safety systems.
Train and mentor Instrument Technicians on best practices and advanced techniques.
Provide critical support during plant turnarounds and major outages.
Maintain stringent documentation for calibration and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of extensive field maintenance experience in instrumentation within an industrial plant environment.
Preferred Skills: Expert knowledge of calibration standards, loop checking, and various communication protocols (HART, Foundation Fieldbus).
