Jr. Draughtsman (Façade)

Reports To: Senior Façade Draughtsman / Façade Manager / Design Manager

Job Summary:

The Jr. Façade Draughtsman is responsible for assisting in the production of detailed technical drawings and shop drawings for architectural façade systems (e.g., curtain walls, windows, cladding, metalwork). This role is crucial in translating architectural designs into precise, buildable instructions for fabrication and site installation, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly details for various façade systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
Work from architectural drawings, sketches, and specifications to develop technical drawings.
Coordinate with senior draughtsmen and engineers to ensure drawings are accurate and clash-free.
Incorporate revisions and updates from project managers, architects, and engineers into drawing sets.
Maintain organized drawing files, revision logs, and documentation.
Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and schedules from drawings.
Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, project-specific protocols, and relevant building codes.
Participate in internal drawing reviews and learn to identify potential design or fabrication issues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Associate’s degree in Architectural Technology, Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
0-2 years of experience in a drafting role, preferably within façade, construction, or an architectural/engineering consultancy.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Experience with Revit, Rhino, or other 3D modeling software is a significant advantage.
Basic understanding of architectural and construction drawings.
Good attention to detail, spatial awareness, and a methodical approach to work.
Willingness to learn about façade systems, materials, and construction methodologies.
Good communication skills to work effectively within a team.
