We’re Hiring: Linux Engineer (Contract – 3 Months)

Location: Dammam, KSA

Work Model: 15 days onsite, rest remote

Contract Duration: 3 months

VaporVM is looking for a skilled Linux Engineer with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining and optimizing Linux-based infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)

- Monitor system performance, ensure availability & reliability

- Apply OS patches, upgrades, and manage system backups

- Troubleshoot hardware, software & networking issues

- Automate tasks (Shell scripting / Ansible / Puppet)

- Implement security controls, firewalls, and conduct audits

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines

- Maintain documentation of configurations and changes

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, or related field

4+ years of Linux system administration experience

Strong knowledge of Linux OS & CLI tools

Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM)

Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

Scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl)

Hands-on with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus)

Preferred Skills:

Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

ITIL/change management familiarity

Database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
