About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimation Engineer specializing in HVAC and Plumbing systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for tenders and projects. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, cost analysis, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze tender documents, specifications, and construction drawings (architectural, structural, mechanical) to understand project scope and requirements.
Prepare detailed and accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs for HVAC (Ductwork, Chilled Water, VRV/VRF, Air Distribution) and Plumbing (Sanitary, Water Supply, Drainage) systems.
Perform comprehensive cost estimation, including material costing, labor calculation, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and overheads.
Source and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
Utilize estimation software and AutoCAD to create accurate take-offs and develop estimation models.
Liaise with clients, consultants, project managers, and the procurement team to clarify technical and commercial aspects.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals, ensuring all client requirements are addressed.
Maintain a database of material costs, labor rates, and historical data for future reference and benchmarking.
Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a larger project team.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 3–4 years of proven experience in mechanical estimation, specifically for HVAC and Plumbing systems, within the GCC region (UAE experience is a strong advantage).
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of construction drawings and the ability to interpret complex MEP layouts.
Expertise in BOQ preparation, material take-offs, and quantity surveying.
Strong analytical and costing skills with a keen eye for detail.
High proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
Proficiency in industry-standard estimation software (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, or similar).
Solid knowledge of local market rates, materials, and construction practices in the UAE/GCC.
Personal Skills:

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
