Plumber (with Landscaping Experience)

Job Title: Plumber with Landscaping Experience

Department: Maintenance / Facilities / Grounds

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Facilities Manager

Summary:

This dual-role position is responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing tasks as well as applying plumbing expertise to landscaping-related water systems. The ideal candidate will be a skilled plumber who can also install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, water features, and other outdoor plumbing elements.

Key Responsibilities:

Plumbing Duties:

Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, gas, and drainage systems.
Locate and diagnose plumbing problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
Clear clogged drains and toilets.
Repair or replace faulty fixtures like faucets, toilets, and water heaters.
Ensure all work complies with plumbing codes and safety standards.

Landscaping-Related Plumbing Duties:

Install, maintain, and repair underground irrigation and sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, controllers, and sprinkler heads.
Troubleshoot and repair issues with landscape water features, such as fountains and ponds, including their pumps and filtration systems.
Assist in the installation and maintenance of French drains, downspout drainage, and other surface water management systems.
Collaborate with the landscaping team to ensure proper water delivery and drainage for plant health.

General Duties:

Perform routine preventive maintenance to prevent system failures.
Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine the layout of plumbing and irrigation systems.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and properly care for tools and equipment.
Interact with clients or staff in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman or Master Plumber license/certification is highly preferred.
Proven experience as a Plumber; experience specifically with irrigation systems is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of irrigation system design, components, and controllers (e.g., Rain Bird, Hunter).
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including digging, lifting heavy materials, and working in various weather conditions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver's license.
