Job Title: QA/QC Manager / Engineer / Inspector

Reports To: Project Manager / Technical Manager

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring that all materials, workmanship, and finished products comply with the project's contractual requirements, specifications, and applicable standards. The QA/QC team establishes the quality plan, implements inspection and testing protocols, and manages the documentation trail that proves quality has been achieved. The role varies from strategic management to hands-on inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation:
Implement and maintain the project-specific Quality Plan in line with ISO 9001 standards and contract documents.
Develop and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for all key activities.
Ensure all subcontractors and suppliers have acceptable quality plans in place.
Inspection & Testing (Control):
Conduct inspections of materials upon delivery and work in progress at various hold points defined in the ITPs.
Witness and verify tests (e.g., concrete cube tests, soil compaction tests, weld inspections) as per the schedule.
Coordinate with the client's and third-party inspectors for joint inspections and approvals.
Identify and document non-conformances (NCRs), initiate corrective actions, and verify their effective closure.
Documentation & Records:
Manage the quality documentation system, including material submittals, test reports, inspection requests, and NCRs.
Prepare and maintain a comprehensive handover file, including all quality records required for project closeout.
Prepare regular quality status reports for project management.
Communication & Coordination:
Liaise with site engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors on quality matters.
Attend quality coordination meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related field. For Inspector roles, a relevant technical diploma with extensive experience may be accepted.
Certification as a Lead Auditor (ISO 9001) is highly desirable for Manager/Engineer levels.
Experience level:
QA/QC Inspector: 5-8 years of field inspection experience in a specific discipline (e.g., civil, piping, welding).
QA/QC Engineer: 8-12 years of experience with a strong understanding of quality standards and testing methods.
QA/QC Manager: 12-15 years of experience, including leadership of a QA/QC team on major projects.
In-depth knowledge of relevant international standards (ASTM, BS, ISO) and local codes.
Strong attention to detail, integrity, and excellent documentation skills.
