Quantity Surveyor (5-10 Years Experience)

Reports To: Commercial Manager / Senior QS

Key Relationships: Project Manager, Project Engineer, Procurement, Client's QS

Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor manages all financial and contractual aspects of the construction project, with a focus on main contract administration. The goal is to maximize project profitability and manage cost risk.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management: Prepare and manage the project budget, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts. Monitor actual costs against budget.
Contract Administration: Administer the main contract, including preparing interim applications for payment, evaluating variations, and managing claims.
Valuation & Invoicing: Prepare detailed monthly valuations, negotiate with the client's QS, and secure payment.
Procurement Support: Prepare bills of quantities, tender packages, and assist in subcontractor procurement.
Subcontract Management: Measure, value, and certify subcontractor payments. Manage subcontractor variations and final accounts.
Financial Reporting: Provide regular cost reports and financial analysis to the Project Manager.
Final Account: Negotiate and settle the project's final account with the client.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Commercial Management.
Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, AIQS, etc.) preferred.
5-10 years of post-graduate QS experience in contracting.
Strong expertise in measurement, valuation, and contract law (FIDIC, etc.).
Excellent negotiation and numerical skills.
