Steel Fixer (Rebar Worker)

Salary Range: AED 1,600 – AED 2,200 per month (dependent on experience and skill level)

Job Overview:

We are looking for skilled Steel Fixers to cut, bend, place, and tie steel reinforcement bars (rebar) as per structural drawings and specifications. The role is physically demanding and requires precision, speed, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Reading Drawings: Ability to read and interpret structural reinforcement drawings (rebar schedules) to understand bar sizes, shapes, quantities, and placement locations.
Fabrication: Cut and bend steel rebar to required shapes and lengths using manual tools or mechanical equipment (cutters, benders), ensuring accuracy as per drawings.
Installation & Fixing: Position and secure rebar in formwork for foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and walls according to engineering specifications. This includes placing spacers and chairs to maintain proper concrete cover.
Tying: Securely tie rebar intersections together using binding wire and pliers to create a rigid skeleton before concreting.
Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a steel fixing team under the direction of a Steel Fixer Foreman or Civil Foreman.
Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere strictly to all site safety rules, especially when working at height or with sharp materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Tool Maintenance: Handle and maintain steel fixing tools and equipment responsibly.

Requirements:

Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Steel Fixer/Rebar Worker.
UAE Experience: Must have prior experience in the UAE/GCC construction industry.
Skills: Proficiency in all aspects of rebar work (cutting, bending, placing, tying). Ability to work quickly and accurately.
Physical Fitness: Excellent physical condition and stamina to perform manual labor in a demanding outdoor environment.
Team Player: Good attitude and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of construction site safety practices.
