Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Storage & Backup Engineer to design, implement, and manage the bank's enterprise storage area network (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), and backup/recovery infrastructure. You will ensure the highest levels of data availability, integrity, and protection for critical financial systems, adhering to strict regulatory and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Storage Management: Administer and optimize enterprise SAN (e.g., Dell EMC PowerMax, VMAX, HPE 3PAR, Pure Storage) and NAS platforms.
Backup & Recovery: Manage and automate backup operations using industry-leading tools (e.g., Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Dell EMC Data Domain). Ensure successful daily backups, periodic recovery testing, and meet RPO/RTO objectives.
Banking Compliance: Implement and maintain data lifecycle management and retention policies in compliance with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) regulations and internal audit requirements.
Performance & Capacity: Monitor storage performance, conduct capacity planning, and provide proactive recommendations for scaling.
Disaster Recovery: Actively participate in DR planning, documentation, and execution. Manage storage replication technologies (e.g., SRDF, SnapMirror) for business continuity.
Troubleshooting: Resolve complex storage and backup issues, working with vendors and other IT teams to minimize downtime.
Security: Harden storage and backup environments, manage access controls, and ensure data encryption standards are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3-9 years of hands-on experience in storage and backup administration.
Banking industry experience is a strong plus.
In-depth expertise in at least two of: Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, or Pure Storage arrays.
Proven experience with enterprise backup software (Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, etc.) and deduplication appliances.
Strong knowledge of storage protocols: Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles as applied to data storage.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
