Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Assistant

📍 Location: Dubai & Abu Dhabi

Teaching Assistants provide crucial support to teachers and students, helping to facilitate learning and manage the classroom environment. They play a key role in delivering targeted support and ensuring student well-being.

Key Responsibilities :

Instructional Support: Assist the teacher with learning activities, including running small group sessions inside or outside the classroom. Support students with reading, literacy, and numeracy tasks.
Classroom Management: Prepare and tidy up classroom resources, mount work displays, and assist with the preparation of worksheets. Supervise students during snack times, transitions, and classroom activities.
Student Care: Provide personal care to students when necessary, such as accompanying younger children to the toilet. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Cover Supervision: Cover whole classes for short periods in emergency situations or as directed by the Principal .
Wider Duties: Photocopy documents, maintain stock cupboards, and assist with administrative tasks. Attend staff meetings as required. For positions combining TA and Bus Attendant roles, responsibilities include ensuring student safety on the bus, taking attendance, and handing students over to authorized adults .
Safeguarding: Maintain tact, confidentiality, and discretion regarding student information. Adhere to all school policies and codes of conduct .

Qualifications & Requirements :

Education: A good level of general education, with a strong focus on Maths and English. A high school diploma is the minimum; a university degree is preferred for some roles.
Experience: Previous experience as a teaching assistant or working with children is preferred (often 1-2 years).
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to relate well to children and work under pressure. ICT skills are desirable.
