Tournant (Swing Cook / Relief Chef)

Location: Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands

Reports To: Sous Chef / Executive Chef

Summary: The Tournant is a versatile and highly skilled cook who provides essential support across all kitchen stations. Acting as a utility player, they fill in for absent staff, assist during peak periods, and must be proficient in every area of the kitchen, from grill and sauté to cold pantry and pastry.

Key Responsibilities:

Work proficiently on any kitchen station (sauté, grill, fry, pantry, pastry, butcher) as required daily.
Provide coverage for days off, vacations, or absences of other line cooks and chefs.
Assist in prepping for all stations to ensure mise en place is complete and up to standard.
Maintain consistency and quality of dishes regardless of the station worked.
Support the Sous Chef and Line Cooks during busy services to ensure timely execution.
Learn and execute all menu items and recipes to exact specifications.
Help with receiving, storage, and basic kitchen cleaning duties.
Demonstrate flexibility, a team-first attitude, and a willingness to learn all aspects of the kitchen.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Culinary school diploma or equivalent hands-on experience.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in various stations within a full-service, à la carte kitchen.
Broad knowledge of cooking techniques, cuisines, and kitchen equipment.
Adaptability and the ability to learn new systems and menus quickly.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Must be legally eligible to work in Turks and Caicos Islands.
