JOB DESCRIPTION – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer will lead the financial strategy and operations for a leading structural steel manufacturing and project execution company. This role requires deep expertise in manufacturing or contracting industries, with strong command over project-based financial planning, compliance, and cost controls. The CFO will be a key member of the leadership team and part of the company’s long-term succession planning.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy in alignment with long-term business goals.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making, investments, and expansion plans.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on financial governance and risk management.
Financial Operations
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and MIS reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely closure of books, statutory compliance, and audit processes.
Manage working capital, cash flows, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
Project-Based Finance
Monitor project costing, revenue recognition, and contractual financial obligations.
Implement systems to track profitability across projects and business units.
Strengthen internal controls to ensure cost efficiency and minimise financial leakage.
Compliance, Controls & Governance
Ensure full compliance with Indian financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
Build robust internal control mechanisms and risk mitigation frameworks.
Lead statutory, financial, and internal audits.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team.
Drive digital transformation and automation within the finance function.
Candidate Profile
Must come from a manufacturing or contracting industry; steel manufacturing experience is a strong advantage.
15–25 years of experience in finance leadership roles.
Proven expertise in managing project-based financials.
Strong understanding of Indian tax laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
Excellent stakeholder management—experience working with promoters/family-led companies preferred.
Strong analytical and operational finance skills.
CA qualification preferred.
