Position: Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of import and export shipments via air and sea freight through Dubai’s ports and airports. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills, deep knowledge of UAE customs regulations, and hands-on experience with the Mirsal 2 system. Your primary goal is to ensure the smooth, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods from origin to final destination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shipment Coordination & Execution:
- Plan, book, and coordinate the end-to-end movement of international shipments via air and ocean freight.
- Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, providing real-time updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Manage documentation flow and ensure all parties are informed of shipment status and any potential delays.
2. Stakeholder Liaison & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, clearing agents, trucking companies, and customs officials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers to negotiate rates and ensure priority service.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (sales, procurement, warehouse) and external consignees to align on delivery schedules.
3. Customs Clearance & Compliance:
- Expertly handle all aspects of customs clearance for imports and exports using the Dubai Customs Mirsal 2 system.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE customs regulations, Free Zone rules, and other governmental requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in customs policies, tariffs, and documentation requirements.
4. Documentation Management:
- Prepare, verify, and submit accurate shipping and customs documents, including but not limited to: Bills of Lading/Airway Bills, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and insurance documents.
- Maintain organized and auditable records of all shipments and customs transactions.
5. Logistics & Final Mile Coordination:
- Arrange and manage port handling, cargo inspections, and trucking services.
- Coordinate the final delivery of cargo to the company warehouse or the consignee's designated location, ensuring all delivery requirements are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a freight forwarding or logistics coordination role within the UAE/GCC region.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Mandatory: Proficiency in using Dubai Customs' Mirsal 2 system.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, especially Excel). Experience with logistics software (TMS) is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Incoterms, sea/air freight procedures, and UAE customs regulations.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (Arabic is a significant advantage).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and solve problems efficiently.
- A team player with a strong customer-service orientation.
