About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Dynatrace Engineer to join our IT Operations or SRE team. You will be the cornerstone of our application performance monitoring (APM), digital experience monitoring (DEM), and AIOps strategy. Your role will involve leveraging the full Dynatrace platform to ensure unparalleled visibility into our complex, microservices-based banking applications, enabling proactive problem detection, rapid root cause analysis, and ensuring a superior customer experience for our digital banking services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Management: Architect, deploy, configure, and manage the Dynatrace SaaS/Managed environment (OneAgent, ActiveGates, Synthetic monitors) across a hybrid banking infrastructure.
- Monitoring & Instrumentation: Lead the instrumentation of applications, containers (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and cloud services (AWS/Azure) to provide full-stack observability (metrics, traces, logs).
- Dashboarding & Alerting: Design and maintain comprehensive dashboards, custom metrics, and intelligent alerting profiles for different stakeholders (Ops, Dev, Business) to provide insights into application health, business KPIs, and user journey performance.
- Problem Detection & RCA: Utilize Dynatrace Smartscape, Davis AI, and PurePaths to perform deep-dive analysis, quickly identify root causes of complex performance issues, and reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).
- Synthetic Monitoring: Implement and manage synthetic tests (web, API) from global locations to monitor the availability and performance of critical customer-facing banking portals and APIs.
- Automation & Integration: Automate configuration as code and integrate Dynatrace with ITSM tools (ServiceNow), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab), and collaboration platforms for enhanced workflows.
- Capacity & Business Analytics: Use Dynatrace data for capacity planning and to provide business insights, such as correlating application performance with transaction volumes or conversion rates.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Act as a subject matter expert, training other teams on Dynatrace capabilities and establishing APM best practices across the organization.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-9 years of experience in IT operations, performance engineering, or SRE, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace (certifications like DCA/DCSA are a significant plus).
- Mandatory Technical Expertise:
- Deep, hands-on proficiency with the Dynatrace platform (SaaS preferred).
- Strong understanding of application architecture (microservices, APIs, containers) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and monitoring containerized environments.
- Knowledge of scripting (Python, JavaScript, Bash) and automation principles.
- Highly Desirable:
- Prior experience in the banking sector, understanding the criticality of digital channels and transaction integrity.
- Experience with other observability tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, New Relic) and log management.
- Understanding of DevOps and SRE principles.
- Soft Skills: Analytical mindset, excellent communication skills to translate technical data into business impact, proactive attitude, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
