Housekeeping Team Leader
Position Title: Housekeeping Team Leader (Floor Supervisor)

Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager
Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for supervising a section of room attendants and ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and aesthetic standards of guest rooms and public areas are met or exceeded. This role involves daily floor inspections, inventory control, and hands-on guidance to ensure efficiency and adherence to health and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Inspection:
- Conduct detailed inspections of cleaned guest rooms, suites, and corridors to ensure they meet the hotel’s established standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Check rooms for maintenance issues, missing items, and mini-bar replenishment, reporting discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure lost and found procedures are followed.
Team Supervision & Productivity:
- Assign work areas and daily duties to room attendants, considering occupancy and special projects.
- Train new room attendants on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and the use of equipment/chemicals.
- Monitor team performance and productivity, providing on-the-job coaching and support.
- Distribute keys and master keys securely and track their return.
Inventory & Equipment Management:
- Manage pars of guest supplies, linen, and cleaning materials on assigned floors.
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and ensure storage areas are organized.
- Ensure all housekeeping equipment (vacuums, carts) is properly maintained and stored.
Operations & Coordination:
- Update room status in coordination with the front office (clean, dirty, out-of-order).
- Coordinate with the maintenance department for repair requests identified during inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards (e.g., OSHA, COVID-19 protocols).
- Assist in deep cleaning and spring cleaning schedules.
Guest Interaction:
- Respond promptly to guest requests for housekeeping services (e.g., extra towels, ironing boards).
- Address guest concerns related to housekeeping courteously and efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Room Attendant, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role in housekeeping.
- In-depth knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and laundry operations.
- Strong eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Good physical health and stamina, with the ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.
- Basic English communication skills; additional languages a plus.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
