Room Attendant
Position Title: Room Attendant (Housekeeping Attendant)
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Housekeeping Team Leader / Executive Housekeeper
Job Summary:
The Room Attendant is essential to the guest experience, responsible for the thorough cleaning, tidying, and restocking of guest rooms and bathrooms to the hotel’s highest standards. This role ensures a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Servicing:
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to established procedures and time standards.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and replace towels and amenities.
- Thoroughly clean bathrooms, including disinfecting surfaces, scrubbing showers/tubs, toilets, and sinks.
- Dust, polish furniture, and vacuum carpets and upholstery.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
- Empty wastebaskets and dispose of trash properly.
Replenishment & Inspection:
- Restock guest room supplies (e.g., toiletries, coffee, tea, paper products).
- Replenish linen and terry in rooms.
- Check that all appliances (TV, lights, kettle) are in working order and report any malfunctions or damage to the Team Leader.
- Report any lost and found items immediately.
Guest Service & Security:
- Respond to guest requests promptly and courteously.
- Maintain a polite, discrete, and professional demeanor with guests, respecting their privacy.
- Follow key control procedures and ensure guest room security at all times.
Operations:
- Maintain the housekeeping cart, ensuring it is well-stocked, clean, and organized.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning chemicals.
- Assist team members as needed and maintain good working relationships.
Qualifications & Skills:
- No formal education required; on-the-job training provided.
- Previous experience in a cleaning role is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks, lifting (approx. 25 lbs), bending, and standing.
- Attention to detail and a pride in delivering high-quality work.
- Basic understanding of English; ability to follow instructions.
- Honesty and reliability.
