Job Overview
Teyseer is looking for a Sr. Purchase Engineer to support procurement activities, supplier management, commercial negotiations, and purchasing coordination. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of purchasing processes, costing, supplier evaluation, and Excel-based calculations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and technically and commercially evaluate new purchase requests.
- Analyze purchase requirements, specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements.
- Research and identify suitable local and overseas suppliers.
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability, delivery capability, and commercial terms.
- Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluations.
- Request and compare supplier quotations and negotiate competitive pricing.
- Negotiate payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
- Coordinate purchase agreements, contracts, Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), and related documentation.
- Maintain effective communication between suppliers and internal departments.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and products.
- Resolve supplier-related issues involving delivery delays, quality concerns, pricing, documentation, or specifications.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved procurement efficiency.
- Prepare costing and Gross Profit (GP) calculations using Excel.
- Provide regular updates on purchase orders, supplier status, and pending procurement requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement coordination, or a similar role.
- Good understanding of procurement and purchasing procedures.
- Experience dealing with local and international suppliers is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, particularly costing and GP calculations.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong follow-up and coordination abilities.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple purchase requirements and deadlines.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
